Erling Haaland further solidified his reputation as a prolific goal scorer on Tuesday, netting five goals against Luton Town in Manchester City's 6-2 triumph in the FA Cup.

The Norwegian striker made an immediate impact, finding the net just three minutes into the game after a well-timed connection with Kevin de Bruyne, giving City an early 1-0 lead. The duo continued to combine effectively, with de Bruyne providing three more assists over the next 52 minutes, helping City maintain their lead despite Luton's Jordan Clark scoring twice. Haaland's final goal of the game came from a perfectly executed square pass from de Bruyne in the penalty area, allowing Haaland to score from close range.

Haaland's fifth goal in the 58th minute, assisted by Bernardo Silva, capped off a historic performance, making him the first player to score five goals in an FA Cup match. Although he fell just short of the record held by George Best and Ronnie Rooke, who both scored six goals in a single FA Cup match, Haaland's achievement remains remarkable.

With this performance, Haaland has now tied for first in the FA Cup's golden boot race alongside Joao Pedro of Brighton and Hove Albion and Sammie Szmodics of Blackburn Rovers, despite having played only one game in the competition this season. Additionally, he currently leads the Premier League's goal-scoring chart with 17 goals.

Haaland's remarkable goal-scoring ability has been consistent throughout his time at Manchester City, with 27 goals in 30 games across all competitions and eight hat-tricks since joining the club last season. His prowess in front of goal continues to impress, making him a key player for City as they aim for success in both domestic and international competitions.
