Tofino, BC, witnessed a heartbreaking incident on Thursday when a small plane crashed at Long Beach Airport, resulting in two fatalities and severe injuries to another person. According to the Tofino RCMP, emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a fire on the runway shortly before 1 p.m.
Details remain sparse, but initial reports suggest that the six-seat aircraft may have experienced an engine fire during takeoff. Rescuers managed to extricate one individual from the plane, who was promptly transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, the other two occupants did not survive the crash.
