Calgary is set to host its most anticipated dining festival of the year, the YYC Food & Drink Experience (YYC EXP). The festival officially starts on Friday, March 13, 2026, and will run through March 29, 2026. This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet, with 120 restaurants across the city offering specially crafted menus.

What to Expect at YYC EXP

This year’s festival stands out for its extensive selection of participating restaurants, offering a variety of prix-fixe brunch, lunch, and dinner options. Most of the menus are three-course meals that average around $50 per person, while more extravagant gourmet experiences featuring five or more courses can cost up to $75 per person.

As reservations are filling up fast, diners are encouraged to book directly with the participating restaurants to secure their spots. The festival not only offers great dining experiences but also promises an exciting mix of exclusive events and opportunities to interact with some of the best chefs in the country.

Exclusive Chef-Led Events

In addition to the array of prix-fixe menus, the YYC Food & Drink Experience will feature 12 exclusive chef-led events. These will include collaborations with Michelin-recognized chefs, award-winning culinary talents, and a range of immersive dining experiences. Visitors will also have the chance to take part in interactive cocktail classes and themed dinners designed to delight all the senses.

One of the festival’s highlights will be a special appearance by Chef Coulson Armstrong, a star from Top Chef Canada. Chef Armstrong will be featured in one of the exclusive events that brings together the best in local culinary talent.

  • March 13: The festival kicks off with an invite-only event at Major Tom.
  • March 17: Good Thief Pop-Up at Francine’s (Sold Out).
  • March 18: A collaboration dinner at River Café with Penny Crown and Teatro.
  • March 19: Dinner to Shock Your Nonna at Charcut.
  • March 20: Knife Fight Vol. 3 — a competitive culinary event between The Wilde on 27 and FinePrint.
  • March 22: A celebration of Indigenous cuisine with a dinner at SAM Centre and Maisie Eatery.
  • March 22–23: Thai-inspired dining with Nam Jim at Model Citizen.
  • March 24: A special Michelin Collaboration at Penny Crown, focused on New York-style cuisine.
  • March 25: YYC EXP Cocktail Class at Barbarella.
  • March 27: Sip & Sample — A sneak peek at Bow & Bend’s spring/summer menu.
  • March 29: The YYC EXP Finale at Teatro featuring Chef Coulson Armstrong from Top Chef Canada.

One of the standout events is the March 22 Indigenous Dinner, which will celebrate traditional Indigenous dishes. This event will showcase the culinary artistry of Shane Chartrand, Tawnya Brant, and Scott Iserhoff, all renowned Indigenous chefs. The dinner will be hosted by Cowboy Smithx, a filmmaker and storyteller.
