The PGA Tour is heading to the Hamilton Golf Club in Ontario for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. Notably, Rory McIlroy claimed victory by a significant seven-stroke margin when the tournament was previously held at Hamilton in 2019, finishing at an impressive 22 under par. McIlroy is the favorite to win again in 2024, with odds of +330, followed by Tommy Fleetwood at +1800 and Sahith Theegala at +2000. Meanwhile, Nick Taylor, who made history as the first Canadian to win the tournament in 69 years last year, is considered a longshot with odds of 70-1. Another Canadian hopeful, Adam Hadwin, is also in contention at 55-1 odds.

Hadwin has had notable success at Hamilton Golf Club, finishing sixth in 2019, and has consistently performed well in recent Canadian Opens. With several top-10 finishes this year, including at the Valspar, Genesis, and American Express tournaments, Hadwin presents a compelling option for bettors considering their 2024 RBC Canadian Open picks.

Before finalizing their bets, punters are advised to consult SportsLine's proprietary model, developed by DFS expert Mike McClure. This model has been remarkably accurate since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020, delivering nearly $9,000 in winnings from its best bets. Notably, McClure correctly predicted Scottie Scheffler's victories at the 2024 Masters, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and The Players Championship. He also foresaw Hideki Matsuyama's win at the 2024 Genesis Invitational, resulting in significant returns. Additionally, McClure accurately predicted Xander Schauffele's triumph at the 2024 PGA Championship.

The model has a proven track record of success in major tournaments, having accurately forecasted Jon Rahm's victories at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. It also correctly predicted Rahm's win at the 2023 Masters. Furthermore, the model correctly picked Nick Taylor to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, along with Jason Day's victory at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler's win at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. Overall, the model has accurately predicted the outcome of 12 majors, including the last three Masters and the 2024 PGA Championship.

As the field for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open is finalized, SportsLine has conducted 10,000 simulations of the tournament. According to the model, Tommy Fleetwood, despite being the second favorite, is not expected to perform well and may struggle to crack the top five. Fleetwood, who finished as the runner-up last year, has yet to secure a victory on the PGA Tour and has experienced recent inconsistencies in his performance. Furthermore, the model predicts that Alex Noren, with odds of 25-1, has a strong chance of contending for the title. Noren has demonstrated impressive consistency this season, making the cut in all 12 PGA Tour events he has participated in and securing several top-25 finishes.

In addition to Noren, the model identifies four other longshot golfers with odds of 25-1 or longer who could potentially make a strong run at the title. Bettors looking for significant returns should consider backing these underdogs. For comprehensive predictions and insights into the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, punters are encouraged to consult SportsLine's model, which has a proven track record of success in major golf tournaments.
