On Wednesday night, a man was taken to the hospital in Montreal's west end after being shot multiple times while parking his vehicle, as reported by the police. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Céline-Marier and Bois-Franc Road in the Saint-Laurent borough, prompting several 911 calls alerting Montreal police to gunshots in the area.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered the victim, who remained conscious despite sustaining gunshot wounds to his upper body. The injured individual was promptly transported to the hospital, with authorities expressing that there was no immediate concern for his life.

Preliminary information relayed to the police suggests that a suspect vehicle approached the victim during the parking maneuver, with one or more individuals from the vehicle opening fire and striking him multiple times. In an attempt to evade the assailants, the victim ended up crashing his vehicle into a tree within the yard of a nearby house, according to Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson for the police.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, leaving the investigation open and ongoing. Investigators are diligently working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting, seeking to unravel the events leading up to and following the targeted attack.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities are exploring various angles to understand the dynamics of the incident. The community and local residents have been shaken by the violent episode, with concerns and questions lingering as the investigation unfolds.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by communities in addressing acts of violence, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.

The police are committed to thoroughly investigating the matter, hoping to bring clarity to the incident and apprehend those responsible for the targeted shooting. As the community awaits updates on the investigation, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the impact of such acts on individuals and neighbourhoods, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in maintaining the well-being and security of the community.
