Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) has exciting news for horror fans: a new year-round attraction called Universal Horror Unleashed is set to open in Las Vegas in 2025. This immersive experience, created by the team behind the popular Halloween Horror Nights, will take place in a transformed warehouse located on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
Universal Horror Unleashed will feature four haunted houses inspired by some of the most chilling stories in horror. Guests can expect to face terrifying encounters based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer. These haunted houses are designed for those who love a good scare and are not meant for the faint of heart.
Page Thompson, President of New Ventures at UDX, shared the motivation behind this new venture. He stated, “Universal’s rich history in the creation of the horror genre drove our desire to bring a year-round horror experience to the incredible entertainment offerings in Las Vegas. We’re thrilled to have our award-winning Creative and Entertainment teams working tirelessly to bring these terrors to life in 2025.”
In addition to the haunted houses, Universal Horror Unleashed will include four themed areas where visitors can immerse themselves even further in the horror experience. These areas will feature live entertainment and unique attractions, providing a fully engaging atmosphere for guests. There will also be a variety of eateries and bars serving up horror-themed food and drinks, making it a perfect destination for those looking to enjoy a meal with a spooky twist. Seasonal events and exclusive merchandise will also be available, ensuring there’s always something new to experience.
This horror attraction was initially announced in 2023 as part of Universal’s strategy to expand its offerings in new markets. Universal Horror Unleashed will serve as the anchor tenant in a 20-acre expansion of AREA15, which is known as an immersive entertainment district in Las Vegas.
Earlier this week, Universal Orlando Resort also revealed details about a new attraction called Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. This attraction is set to be part of the Dark Universe, one of the five new themed worlds coming to Universal Epic Universe, also scheduled to open in 2025.
