Drake has just unveiled a new music video for his song “No Face,” and fans in Scarborough will easily recognize the filming location. The roughly one-minute black-and-white video was shared on his Instagram account on October 30 and features Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, along with his crew from October’s Very Own (OVO).
The video kicks off outside Scarborough Town Centre, a popular shopping destination situated near Highway 401 and McCowan Road. As the scene unfolds, viewers are taken inside the bustling mall, where Drake performs in front of a lively crowd. Members of his crew, all decked out in OVO’s signature owl hoodies, cheer him on as he raps passionately.

In an eye-catching moment, Drake hangs out of the passenger seat of a Cadillac Escalade as it drives through the mall, while his entourage follows closely behind on various all-terrain vehicles. The energetic atmosphere of the video captures the fun and camaraderie of the OVO team, showcasing a unique blend of music and lifestyle.

While the exact timing of the shoot remains a mystery, the video appears to have been filmed at night, ensuring that the mall was closed to the public. This nighttime setting adds a special flair to the visuals, creating an exclusive vibe that resonates with fans.

Scarborough Town Centre confirmed the filming location in an email to local news, highlighting the presence of a new OVO pop-up store that features prominently throughout the video. This pop-up store adds a touch of local flair and connects Drake’s music to his roots in Toronto.

Interestingly, this isn’t Drake’s first time using a mall as a backdrop for his music. Back in 2017, he filmed the video for “Gyalchester” at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, which also included scenes of an Escalade cruising through the mall. That video celebrated the opening of an OVO store at the location, further cementing Drake’s connection to Toronto’s retail landscape.

Drake’s use of familiar local spots not only enhances the authenticity of his music but also fosters a sense of community among his fans. Scarborough Town Centre has become a recognizable landmark in the city, and its appearance in Drake's latest video is sure to generate excitement among residents.

The music video for “No Face” reflects Drake’s ability to merge his artistic vision with his personal history and love for his hometown. By showcasing iconic locations in Toronto, he continues to strengthen his bond with fans while elevating the city’s cultural status on a global scale.
