Alejandro Garnacho's impact at Manchester United has been a blend of inspiration and confusion due to his unwavering penchant for shooting. Despite occasional misses, his fearlessness paid off at Old Trafford with a crucial brace securing a 3-2 comeback win against Aston Villa.

The young winger's goals, along with Rasmus Hojlund's breakthrough, salvaged Erik ten Hag's team from difficult queries and presented Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new minority owner, with a perfect Christmas gift. Although the victory margin could have been more significant, wastefulness haunted several players in red. However, given their youthful exuberance, a degree of inefficiency is expected. United's hunger for goals makes the ability to find the net more critical than the number of chances created.

The match's storyline took a familiar turn when Villa surged ahead in the 48th minute with two soft set-piece goals, threatening United's standings. The hosts struggled in execution, often faltering in the final third despite reaching promising positions.

Garnacho missed an earlier opportunity due to an offside position, echoing his and United's first-half struggles. However, the Argentine's persistence paid off as he found the net, capitalizing on a pass from Marcus Rashford. His second goal, deflected off Diego Carlos, secured a vital lead. Hojlund's subsequent goal mirrored Villa's style, highlighting areas for improvement in Ten Hag's team, especially in defending set pieces.

Building a team around young talents like Garnacho poses challenges as they occasionally falter. Despite occasional wayward shots, his ability to create opportunities remains evident. However, coaching out such impulsive attempts will be crucial, although improving end-product across the team is an overarching task.

The victory showcased United's resurgence but also exposed defensive vulnerabilities against Villa's set-piece prowess, emphasizing the need for improvement. While the young stars salvaged the game this time, the staff acknowledges the pressing need for defensive enhancement moving forward.
