Brazil's national soccer team has secured a landmark extension of its partnership with Nike, one of the longest-standing collaborations in sports history. Announced on Friday, the deal will now run through 2038, adding 12 more years to their existing contract. According to an anonymous insider, the new agreement is valued at $100 million annually, alongside royalties from jersey sales, a feature absent from previous deals.

For the first time, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will have the opportunity to license merchandise globally and establish official stores worldwide. This move highlights the enduring appeal and global reach of Brazilian soccer, often celebrated for its legacy of skill and passion, known as jogo bonito—the beautiful game.

CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues expressed pride in the extended partnership. “This contract underscores the power of Brazilian soccer,” Rodrigues stated. “Together with Nike, we aim to continue honoring the brilliance of our sport and its rich legacy.”

Nike and Brazil first joined forces in 1996, a partnership that has seen the national team don Nike kits through iconic tournaments and triumphs. The previous contract was set to expire in 2026, but the early renewal reflects mutual confidence in the collaboration's success.

Doug Bowles, Nike’s vice president for Latin America, described the deal as a reaffirmation of their longstanding relationship. “This strengthens our deep commitment to Brazilian soccer,” Bowles said.

The updated agreement ensures Nike will continue to supply kits for Brazil’s men’s and women’s teams across all age groups, as well as for the beach soccer and futsal teams. The partnership emphasizes Nike’s significant role in the global soccer landscape, cementing ties with one of the sport's most decorated teams.

Notably, Nike’s dominance in soccer sponsorship has grown. In March, the company secured a major agreement with the German Football Association (DFB), ending Adidas’s 70-year tenure as Germany’s apparel provider. That contract, effective from 2027 to 2034, is reportedly worth €100 million annually ($108 million).

Brazil’s continued alliance with Nike further elevates the brand’s influence, alongside sponsorships with other national teams such as France, England, Portugal, and Australia. With this renewal, Nike maintains a stronghold in outfitting soccer’s biggest stars and global fanbases.

The inclusion of royalties and international licensing rights marks a significant milestone for the CBF, allowing it to expand its commercial footprint. Fans worldwide can expect greater access to official merchandise, while the Brazilian teams remain outfitted in Nike’s cutting-edge sportswear.

This extended deal not only secures financial stability for the CBF but also solidifies Brazil’s status as a global soccer powerhouse. With this partnership, Brazil and Nike aim to continue celebrating the spirit of the beautiful game on the world stage.
