Progresso, the popular soup brand, recently introduced a new treat that has soup lovers excited. Last Thursday, the company launched Soup Drops, a hard candy with the delicious flavor of chicken noodle soup. Resembling a cough drop, these candy drops quickly gained attention. In fact, the first batch sold out in less than an hour. The company shared the news of the sellout in an Instagram post, expressing surprise at how fast it happened.

"Well this is souper awkward... our Soup Drops sold out before we had the chance to tell you," the Instagram caption read. "But don't worry, there's a fresh batch of Soup You Can Suck On coming your way next Thursday, 1/23 at 9AM ET at ProgressoSoupDrops.com!"

The company assured fans that more Soup Drops would be available each Thursday for the rest of January, but they will only be available while supplies last. Progresso is making it clear that fans can expect a regular release of these quirky candy drops, much to the delight of those who missed out on the first round.

The new Soup Drops are a unique way to experience the flavors of Progresso's signature chicken noodle soup in a portable form. According to Progresso, these drops combine the savory taste of broth, vegetables, soft egg noodles, and a hint of parsley. Each drop is carefully crafted to mimic the comforting taste of the soup, offering a new, fun way to enjoy a familiar favorite.

Progresso's Soup Drops come packaged in a can that looks just like their regular soup cans. Inside, there are 20 individually wrapped candy drops. When you order, you'll also receive a can of Progresso’s Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup, so you can enjoy the soup in its classic form as well. The price for the Soup Drops package is $2.49, plus shipping.

This idea came from a simple thought: when you're feeling under the weather, few things are more comforting than a bowl of chicken noodle soup. MC Comings, Vice President and Business Unit Director for Progresso at General Mills, shared that the company wanted to offer fans a new way to enjoy this comforting flavor wherever they go. “We took the beloved flavors of our Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup and packed them into a fun, savory candy Soup Drop for a totally new way to enjoy the taste you love whenever and wherever you want,” Comings said in a statement.

The success of the Soup Drops shows that consumers are always on the lookout for new, fun, and creative ways to enjoy their favorite flavors. Progresso's innovative approach has caught the attention of candy lovers and soup fans alike, and it seems this trend is only just beginning.
