Shake Shack is offering its first-ever combo meal for a limited time. The deal, available until March 15, includes a Chicken Shack sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, and a small soda for $9.99. This marks a shift for the restaurant, which has traditionally sold its menu items separately.
Shake Shack Joins the Combo Meal Trend
Many fast-food chains, including McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy’s, have long offered value meals. These meal deals help customers save money, especially as food prices continue to rise. Shake Shack is now following suit with its own special offer.
Restaurants have been adjusting to inflation by providing affordable meal options. Even sit-down restaurants like Outback Steakhouse have introduced budget-friendly deals. Convenience stores like Circle K have also joined the trend, offering meal deals for as little as $3.
According to the Labor Department, food prices have risen significantly. Over the past year, the cost of eating out has increased by 3.6%. Fast-food prices have gone up by 3.7%, while full-service restaurant meals have risen slightly less.
With inflation affecting customers, more people are eating at home instead of dining out. A survey found that nearly 60% of Americans have reduced how often they eat at restaurants. Many are spending more on groceries and cooking at home instead.
Christopher Hydock, a consumer pricing expert, explained that restaurants are now competing for fewer customers. "Since price is a major concern for customers, value meals are one way for restaurants to attract more people," he said.
How to Get Shake Shack’s $9.99 Combo Meal
Customers can redeem Shake Shack’s combo meal by adding each item to their cart when ordering at a kiosk, on the Shake Shack app, or on the company’s website. To apply the deal, they must enter the code "CHICKEN" at checkout.
This offer is valid only at participating locations. Customers can use the promotion for in-store pickup, delivery, or kiosk orders. However, it cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
The combo meal does not include premium add-ons like avocado, bacon, cheese fries, large sodas, specialty shakes, or iced teas.
Shake Shack Introduces Chickette, Its First Mascot
To celebrate this new combo meal, Shake Shack is also launching a social media campaign. The company is looking for someone to bring its first-ever mascot, Chickette, to life.
Shake Shack’s new promotion comes at a time when restaurants are making an effort to offer more affordable meal options. The limited-time deal is an attempt to attract more customers and compete with other fast-food giants.
