Coachella 2025 has shown a noticeable shift in the festival’s fashion scene. As the second weekend approaches, many attendees have opted for simpler and more understated styles compared to the vibrant, boho-chic looks that were once the hallmark of this desert gathering. The change is most evident in the fashion of Vanessa Hudgens, who was once crowned the “Queen of Coachella.” Her signature bohemian style, which used to define the event, has made way for a more subdued and minimalistic approach, seen on many festival-goers this year.

This new trend is partly driven by a desire to blend in. Several big names, including Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, and Justin and Hailey Bieber, walked through the festival grounds without drawing too much attention. Yet, there were still celebrities who chose to make bold statements with their outfits, standing out both on and off the stage.

Lady Gaga’s performance stood out with her striking fashion choice. She wore a custom feathery outfit designed by the provocative brand Fecal Matter. Completing the dramatic look were bird claw accessories on her hands, making her closing performance one to remember.

Blackpink’s Lisa also made a statement during her solo performance. She wore a custom reptile-inspired outfit by designer Asher Levine, which contrasted sharply with her character’s look in The White Lotus. Her bold fashion matched the energy of her performance.

Meanwhile, Jennie, another member of Blackpink, went for a Western-inspired look. She sported a leather jacket from Georges Hobeika, paired with custom mini shorts. Julia Fox also embraced a cowboy aesthetic, stepping out in heeled boots, a cropped leather jacket, and chaps worn with no pants underneath, giving a daring, exposed look.

Not all festival performers stuck to the Western theme. Several stars, including Megan Thee Stallion, Ciara, Tyla, and Victoria Monét, went for micro-shorts during their performances, showing off their confidence and adding some extra flair to their stage presence.

One of the most unexpected fashion moments at the festival came from Bernie Sanders, the US senator known for his no-nonsense style. Sanders stood out in the crowd by wearing a simple navy blazer and a light blue shirt, a look more appropriate for a business meeting than a music festival. However, he was there with a purpose, delivering a speech before Clairo’s performance.

From bold animal-inspired designs to more understated looks, Coachella 2025 has brought an exciting mix of fashion choices. While many celebrities have gone for simpler outfits, others have embraced the chance to make a statement, proving that Coachella is still a place for fashion experimentation.
