Adani Airport Holdings has officially ended its partnership with Turkish ground handling firm Celebi at Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports. This decision follows the Indian government’s move to revoke Celebi’s security clearance.
Sudden Exit After Government Revokes Security Clearance
The termination of the ground handling concession was made with immediate effect. A spokesperson from Adani Airports confirmed the action, stating that Celebi was directed to hand over all ground handling facilities without delay. This step ensures that airport services remain uninterrupted at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad.
Seamless Transition to New Ground Handling Agencies
Despite the abrupt end to the agreement, operations at both airports will continue smoothly. Adani Airport has already lined up new ground handling agencies. To ease the transition, Adani has announced that all existing Celebi staff at CSMIA and SVPIA will be transferred to the new service providers.
