Vancouver’s Biggest Free Music Festival Hits West 4th Avenue. Daily Hive

Vancouver’s popular Khatsahlano Street Party is coming back this summer. The event will take place on Saturday, July 5, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It stretches across West 4th Avenue between Burrard Street and Macdonald Street. Thousands of people are expected to attend the free festival.

Major Road Closures Expected

West 4th Avenue will be closed to traffic from Burrard to Macdonald. This includes side streets that connect to the main festival area. The closures will start before the event begins and remain in place until after it ends. Drivers are advised to check for "no parking" signs and avoid the area if possible.

What to Expect at the Festival

Khatsahlano is one of Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festivals. This year, over 60 concerts are scheduled throughout the day. The music lineup has been chosen by Zulu Records, a well-known local music store.

Besides the music, visitors can enjoy food trucks, shopping, and booths by local artists and businesses. There will be games and activities for families, making it a fun event for people of all ages.

Travel Tips for Visitors

Organizers strongly recommend using public transport. Buses and SkyTrain lines will bring visitors close to the festival area. People who live nearby are encouraged to walk or bike.

Organizers warn that parking in the area will be very limited. Car share or bike share services are also suggested. Arriving early is the best way to avoid crowds and get the most out of the day.

Plan Ahead and Have Fun

Khatsahlano is more than just a street party. It's a celebration of Vancouver’s music, food, and arts scene. With so much to see and do, planning your visit in advance will help you enjoy it to the fullest.

Whether you're coming for the music, the food, or the vibe, Khatsahlano promises a great time. Just remember — leave the car at home, bring your walking shoes, and enjoy one of the city’s most exciting summer events.
