Taylor Momsen made a daring entrance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Los Angeles on November 8. The 31-year-old singer and actress chose a stunning sheer black lace gown that fit her frame perfectly. She skipped a bra, pairing the dress with beige underwear, giving the outfit a bold edge.
Taylor completed her look with silver rings and bracelets, dark smokey eyes, and her signature platinum blonde hair swept to one side. The look was pure rock and roll — elegant yet rebellious, much like her music.
A Quick Change for the After-Event
Later that night, Taylor switched her outfit for the press room. She slipped into a black satin mini dress and added an oversized leather jacket, fishnet tights, and Dr. Martens boots. Her wavy hair and effortless confidence gave her a true rocker vibe.
The evening also brought a heartwarming reunion. Taylor met her How the Grinch Stole Christmas co-star, Jim Carrey, on the red carpet. Taylor, who played little Cindy Lou Who at just six years old, shared a warm embrace with Jim, who famously played the Grinch.
Jim looked stylish himself, wearing a black t-shirt with a gold design, a long trench coat with white stripes, and slicked-back hair. The reunion marked a nostalgic moment for fans who grew up watching the holiday classic.
Rocking the Stage
Taylor didn’t just attend the event — she performed too. As the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, she joined Brandi Carlile on stage to honour Soundgarden, who were being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Together, they performed powerful renditions of “Fell on Black Days,” “Rusty Cage,” and “Black Hole Sun.” Taylor’s commanding stage presence and raspy vocals brought the audience to their feet.

It was a full-circle moment for the star who grew up in Hollywood but found her true voice in music.
Style with Substance
Taylor’s edgy style has always been more than fashion — it’s part of her artistic identity. She credits much of her inspiration to The White Stripes, a band that deeply influenced her growing up.
“Seeing the White Stripes when I was a kid definitely had an impact on me,” she said. “The monochromatic colouring of the stage and the red-and-white aesthetic gave the whole thing such presence.”
Taylor explained that for her, fashion and music are deeply connected. “I just love music and fashion, so that’s what I surround myself with,” she said. “For many musicians, fashion is part of the visual expression of their music.”
She began exploring her personal style during her time on Gossip Girl, where she played Jenny “Little J” Humphrey — a character also experimenting with identity and fashion.
Taylor recalled that some of her on-screen outfits were her own picks. “They were very me. I was just being authentic,” she said. “Now, I look back and call it pretentious, but that was who I was at the time.”
A Night to Remember
Between her fearless fashion choices, emotional reunion, and energetic performance, Taylor Momsen proved once again that she embodies true rock spirit. Whether on stage or on the red carpet, she continues to push boundaries and express herself without apology — a trait that has defined her journey from child star to rock icon.
