Melissa Benoist, known for her portrayal of Supergirl, is venturing into new projects and eagerly anticipating Milly Alcock's take on the iconic role.

At 35, Benoist recently attended the New York premiere of her latest drama series, "The Girls on the Bus," where she discussed her reluctance to offer advice to the 23-year-old Alcock regarding her upcoming portrayal of Supergirl. Benoist emphasized the importance of each actor bringing their unique interpretation to the character.

Having embodied Kara Zor-El for six seasons on The CW's Supergirl, Benoist expressed relief at stepping away from the physically demanding role. She humorously noted feeling "much more well-rested" after leaving the part behind.

Benoist is now immersed in her role as journalist Sadie McCarthy in the political drama "The Girls on the Bus," which follows four women covering a fictionalized 2024 presidential campaign. She admires her character's passion and fearlessness, finding inspiration in Sadie's scrappy and tenacious nature.

"The Girls on the Bus," also featuring Natasha Behnam, Christina Elmore, and a talented ensemble cast, is set to premiere on Max on March 14th. As Benoist explores new acting avenues, she eagerly awaits Alcock's unique portrayal of Supergirl, emphasizing the importance of individual interpretation in iconic roles.
