Khamenei's comments, made during a meeting with senior military officials, did not address Israel's reported retaliatory strike on Isfahan. The Iranian attack, launched on April 13, aimed to overwhelm Israel's air defenses but was largely intercepted. Satellite images revealed minimal damage at Israel's Nevatim air base. The attack was allegedly in retaliation for an earlier Israeli strike in Syria.
Khamenei emphasized the importance of Iran's military presence on the international stage, despite criticism and domestic challenges. In Iraq, security forces are investigating a cross-border missile attack targeting a base hosting U.S.-led coalition forces. The attack, which occurred in the Nineveh province, prompted Iraqi authorities to search for the perpetrators. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Two nights earlier, an explosion at a base north of Babylon killed one person and injured eight, with conflicting reports on the cause.
