These protests, organized by coalitions of student groups, have spread independently across campuses, with students drawing inspiration from their counterparts at other universities.
Here's a summary of recent protests on various campuses:
**COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY:**
Pro-Palestinian student demonstrators established a tent encampment at Columbia University in New York. Police attempted to dismantle the encampment on April 18, resulting in the arrest of over 100 protesters. However, this action sparked solidarity among students nationwide and motivated Columbia protesters to regroup.
