A restaurateur from Kamouraska, located in Bas-Saint-Laurent, experienced the theft of her vehicle while passing through Montreal. However, thanks to a post on Facebook and the support of fellow restaurateurs, she was able to retrieve it in approximately 36 hours.
Perle Morency, the proprietor of the Côté Est restaurant, expressed her gratitude towards social media and the restaurateur community, which rallied together to locate the stolen vehicle. Morency shared her appreciation for the collective effort, stating that their combined actions led to the successful recovery of her car.
In a remarkable display of solidarity, a member of the food business community who discovered the stolen SUV even attempted to chase down the thief. Morency acknowledged this gesture, although she emphasized that such actions are not advisable.
The restaurateur highlighted the significance of the support she received from her community during this ordeal, describing it as a powerful symbol of their relationship. She particularly emphasized her connection with them as a member of the Round Table, a local organization.
Despite the vehicle's windows being shattered and its geolocation system disabled, Morency remains undeterred. She possesses video evidence of the thieves and intends to pursue an investigation into the matter.
As of now, the SUV remains in Montreal, awaiting towing in the coming days.
