Prosecutors have shared the full list of charges Andrew and Tristan Tate face in the UK. Together, they will answer 21 counts, including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. This is the first time the public has seen all the charges.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) approved these charges in 2024. After that, they issued an extradition order to bring the brothers from Romania back to the UK.
Ongoing Romanian Investigation
Andrew and Tristan Tate currently face criminal investigations in Romania. They deny all the charges against them there. The CPS said, “the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first,” meaning the Romanian cases need to finish before they face trial in the UK.
The CPS decided to press charges after receiving evidence from Bedfordshire Police about the accusations in the UK.
Details on Charges
Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges linked to three alleged victims. These include rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for profit.
Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim. His charges include rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking.
Both brothers were born in the US but moved to Luton, UK, with their mother after their parents divorced.
Who Are the Tate Brothers?
Andrew Tate is a former kickboxer turned social media influencer. He calls himself a misogynist and has gained over 10 million followers on X (formerly Twitter). He shares videos and pictures showing his luxury life with fast cars, private jets, and yachts.
The brothers were first arrested in Romania in December 2022. Andrew faced accusations of rape and human trafficking. Tristan was suspected of human trafficking. They denied all charges and were placed under house arrest for several months.
In August 2024, Romanian authorities brought new charges, including sex with a minor and trafficking underage people. The Tate brothers deny these allegations as well.
UK Arrest and Extradition
In March 2024, Bedfordshire Police obtained an arrest warrant for the brothers over UK allegations of rape and trafficking. This led to their detention in Bucharest.
The legal team for the Tate brothers said the UK charges relate to events between 2012 and 2015. The brothers called the accusations false and said, “we are very innocent men.”
A Romanian court said the brothers can only be extradited to the UK after finishing their trials in Romania. The court released them but placed a two-year travel ban.
Travel and Return
Earlier this year, Romanian prosecutors lifted the travel ban unexpectedly. The brothers flew to Florida, USA, by private jet in February 2025.
They returned to Romania in March 2025. The brothers told reporters, “innocent men don’t run from anything.”
They say registering with Bucharest police is a legal step to show they follow the investigation rules. Andrew did not confirm if he will stay in Romania but promised to prove his innocence in both countries.
