Angelina Jolie and her son, Knox Jolie-Pitt, made a rare public appearance together at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles on November 17, making it a memorable family evening.

Sixteen-year-old Knox, whom Angelina shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, returned to the spotlight for the first time in over three years—and did so with confidence and style.

Angelina, 48, looked stunning in a flowing yellow gown, exuding elegance as she walked arm-in-arm with Knox on the red carpet. Meanwhile, Knox looked sharp in a classic black suit and tie, sporting a buzzed haircut that highlighted how much he has matured since his last public appearance.

This outing was particularly noteworthy, as Knox has rarely attended high-profile events. His most recent red carpet appearance was in October 2021, when he accompanied his siblings—Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and twin sister Vivienne—to the London premiere of Eternals, a Marvel film starring their mother.

Although their parents are among Hollywood’s biggest stars, the Jolie-Pitt children have largely avoided the public eye, a choice Angelina has always respected. In an October interview with media, she said, They're especially shy, very private people, and they want to be private.

Despite their low profiles, some of the Jolie-Pitt kids are beginning to explore their own interests in the entertainment world. Maddox, 23, and Pax, 20, recently joined Angelina behind the scenes on her upcoming biopic Maria, directed by Pablo Larraín.

"Maddox and Pax worked as assistant directors on this project," Angelina told The Hollywood Reporter in August. "They’ve done this kind of work a few times now, and it’s been a great experience for them. Pax also has a talent for still photography, and Pablo was quick to recognize that."

Angelina’s encouragement of her children’s creative passions extends to her daughter Vivienne, 16, who has developed a love for theater. Vivienne served as a producer’s assistant for the Broadway adaptation of The Outsiders, a project Angelina is producing.

"My daughter Viv loves theater," Angelina shared with Deadline in June. "She has a deep appreciation for it and knows what resonates with her personally."

Vivienne’s enthusiasm for The Outsiders played a key role in Angelina’s decision to join the production. After seeing the play multiple times, Vivienne urged her mother to get involved, emphasizing the story’s emotional impact on her as a young person.

"It was eye-opening for me," Angelina explained. "Vivienne showed me how meaningful this material is to her generation, and that’s what inspired me to be part of it."

Since then, Vivienne has remained actively involved in the production process. "Watching her commitment and passion throughout the past year has been a privilege," Angelina said. "She’s been by my side every step of the way."
