Apple is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year, set to take place next week. On September 9, the company will hold its Glowtime event, where it is expected to unveil the much-anticipated iPhone 16 series. This new lineup of iPhones will be the highlight of the event, and Apple is also rumoured to introduce the latest version of its Apple Watch. However, there are whispers that some major products might not make an appearance at this event.
One item that may need to be added to the launch is the next-generation AirPods Pro 3. While Apple has been working on these new earbuds, which are rumoured to feature a fresh design, updated chipset, and potentially new health-related features, it seems they might not be revealed just yet. Instead, the company might wait to release the AirPods Pro 3 until later next year. Instead, Apple is expected to introduce two new versions of AirPods 4, which will likely replace the current AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 models. These new AirPods 4 are anticipated to be announced alongside the iPhone 16 series.

Another potential omission is the iPhone SE 4. The current iPhone SE, released in 2022, has a design similar to the iPhone 8. The new iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to feature a redesigned look, Face ID, and an OLED display, along with the A18 chipset. However, it is speculated that this model might not debut until the first half of 2025, so it might not be part of the September 9 event.

Additionally, Apple is believed to be working on a more affordable version of its mixed-reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro. Although the Vision Pro was introduced last year, it is not yet available in stores. The cheaper version is expected to attract a wider audience but may not be released until late 2025. During the event, Apple might instead announce plans to expand the availability of the existing Vision Pro to more countries.

There are also rumours about new HomePods, with the latest models potentially featuring an 8-inch LCD display on top. However, there is no indication that these new HomePods will be introduced in September.

Lastly, Apple is reportedly developing new Macs powered by the M4 chip, which was first seen in the iPad Pro earlier this year. These new models, including updates to the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac, are anticipated to showcase the capabilities of the M4 chip. Nonetheless, it appears that the release of these new Macs may not happen anytime soon, possibly missing the upcoming event.
