Head coach and co-general manager Rick Campbell commended the team's resilience and determination, particularly noting the lessons learned from previous playoff defeats. Key players like quarterback Vernon Adams Jr., who led the CFL in passing yards last season, and wide receiver Alexander Hollins, who ranked among the league leaders in receiving touchdowns, provide stability and talent to the team's offense. Additionally, the return of Keon Hatcher, despite missing training camp due to injury, adds depth to the receiving corps.
However, the team also faced departures, with receiver Dominique Rhymes and fan favorite Lucky Whitehead not returning for the 2024 season. Their absence creates opportunities for new players to step up and make an impact on the team.
One notable addition to the Lions' roster is running back William Stanback, who joined the team as a free agent after winning the Grey Cup with the Montreal Alouettes. Stanback brings size and experience to the Lions' running game, enhancing their offensive capabilities.
