Soap opera actor David Gail, recognized for his roles in "General Hospital" spinoff "Port Charles" and "Beverly Hills, 90210," passed away at the age of 58. The news was confirmed by his sister, Katie Colmenares, in an Instagram post on Saturday, expressing her deep connection with him and the profound loss she feels.

Colmenares shared, "There's barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side. Always my wingman, always my best friend, ready to face anything and anyone with me. The days ahead will never be the same, but I will hold you so tight every day in my heart, you gorgeous, loving, amazing, fierce human being. Missing you every second of every day, forever. There will never be another."

The cause of Gail's death has not been publicly disclosed, and attempts to reach his representative for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. Inquiries have also been made to ABC, where Gail had connections through his work, for any official statement.

Peter Ferriero, co-host of a "Beverly Hills, 90210" rewatch podcast, paid tribute to Gail in a recent episode, leading fans to seek confirmation of the news online. Ferriero addressed the delay in the news spreading, stating in an Instagram Story, "For those that have contacted me 'Why is this not showing up on Google?' Please stop. The family will report it at the appropriate time to them. I am sharing what I've been told to make sure his fans know what has happened. Thank you."

In his career, Gail played Dr. Joe Scanlon in "Port Charles" and Stuart Carson, the one-time fiancé of Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) in "Beverly Hills, 90210." Reflecting on his time on the latter show during an April 2021 appearance on Ferriero's podcast, Gail expressed gratitude for the writing, production, and ideas, emphasizing the positive impact it had on him.

Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Gail embarked on his acting journey with appearances in shows like "Growing Pains," "Doogie Howser, M.D.," "Murder, She Wrote," and "Matlock." His diverse career also included roles in series such as "Robin's Hoods," "Savannah," "The Round Table," and "JAG."

His final acting credit was in 2019, lending his voice to the character Sam in the video game "Blacksad: Under the Skin." The legacy of David Gail lives on through his contributions to the entertainment industry and the memories he leaves behind for his fans and loved ones.
