Police in northern Saskatchewan continue to investigate a report of gunshots on a First Nation as concerns linger after a deadly shooting last week. Officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police responded late Friday night to a call from Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
The community sits about 400 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon. Police arrived quickly and searched the area but did not find anyone hurt at the scene.
Possible Link Under Review
Mounties said they are now working to find out whether the reported gunfire connects to a shooting that happened early in the morning on Dec. 30. That earlier incident shook the community and left one person dead. Three others suffered injuries.
