‘I’m sincerely sorry’: Billy Joel cancels all concerts after being diagnosed with brain disorder

Billy Joel has hit pause on his tour plans. The legendary singer-songwriter is stepping away from the stage to prioritize his health following a serious medical diagnosis.

Health Scare Forces Sudden Tour Halt

The Piano Man has cancelled 17 stadium shows across North America and England. The decision follows his recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a neurological disorder affecting balance, vision, and hearing.

His team shared that recent performances worsened the condition, making it harder for Joel to carry on. Under medical advice, he will now undergo a specific physical therapy program and take time away from performing.

A Message from Billy to Fans

Joel issued a heartfelt apology to his fans.
“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience. Thank you for understanding,” he said in a statement.

According to his team, Joel is fully committed to recovery. They expressed gratitude for the excellent medical care he is receiving and assured fans that his health is the top priority.

Postponements and Recovery Timeline

This isn’t the first interruption in Joel’s tour schedule. Back in March, he postponed shows following a fall onstage during a performance in Uncasville, Connecticut.

At the time, Joel emphasized the importance of putting his well-being first.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” he said. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans.”

The latest update confirms that all 17 cancelled shows will be rescheduled. Ticket holders don’t need to worry—tickets will remain valid for the new dates.

Looking Ahead with Hope

Though the cancellation may be disappointing, fans have shown strong support. Joel remains optimistic and focused on healing. His team expects a full recovery following surgery and therapy, with a possible return to the stage in a few months.

For now, the lights on his tour may be dimmed, but the music legend's spirit remains strong.
