Jon Bon Jovi, the iconic rockstar, is eyeing a return to touring following a significant recovery from vocal cord surgery. In an interview with Mix 104.1 Boston, the 62-year-old expressed his desire to hit the road again next year, although he emphasized that he's still recuperating from what he described as a "major surgery."

Despite his ongoing recovery, Bon Jovi remains optimistic about returning to the stage for lengthy performances. He revealed that his goal is to deliver two-and-a-half-hour shows, four nights a week, for extended periods, reflecting his dedication to his craft.

This announcement coincides with the promotion of his band's upcoming album "Forever," slated for release on June 7. Bon Jovi underwent the surgery back in 2022 but only spoke about it publicly earlier this year during the press tour for his Hulu docuseries, "Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story."

Reflecting on his vocal prowess and the impact of the surgery, Bon Jovi expressed pride in his vocal abilities, honed over four decades of experience. He described his struggle with losing his singing capabilities and the medical explanation behind it, detailing how one of his vocal cords had "literally atrophied," affecting his performance.

Seeking resolution, Bon Jovi consulted a doctor in Philadelphia who performed a medialization laryngoplasty, incorporating a cutting-edge implant to rebuild his vocal cord. He has since been undergoing rehabilitation to regain his former singing strength and finesse.

Despite the challenges, Bon Jovi found solace in returning to the stage earlier this year during an event where he was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year. He described the experience as liberating, marking his first public performance since the surgery and a significant milestone in his recovery journey.

Looking ahead, Bon Jovi is slated to appear at the Hollywood Bowl on April 11 for a tribute to the late Jimmy Buffett, showcasing his determination to return to live performances. His Hulu docuseries, offering insights into his life and career, is set to stream starting April 26, providing fans with a deeper understanding of his journey as an artist.
