Burger King unveils its new SpongeBob-themed meal. Burger King
Burger King kicked off December with a bright and playful launch. A new SpongeBob-themed menu arrived on December 1 to celebrate the upcoming film “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.” The movie hits theatres on December 19, and the menu brings the cartoon world of Bikini Bottom onto land for a short time.
Burger King shaped the menu around favourite characters from the show. Each item carries a fun twist and colourful design meant to remind fans of life under the sea.
New Items Bring Bikini Bottom to the Table
The star of the menu is SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper. It features a quarter-pound beef patty on a bright yellow square bun. The burger comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayo, and ketchup. The square bun adds a playful nod to SpongeBob’s shape.
Mr. Krabs also gets a dish in his honour. His Cheesy Bacon Tots come shaped like coins and include melted cheese and bacon inside. The tots arrive in a small treasure-themed box.
Patrick fans can try Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie for $2.99. The dessert includes layers of strawberry and vanilla cream with a cookie crumb crust. It also comes topped with pink star sprinkles and shortcake cookie crumbs.
For drink lovers, Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float adds a tropical touch. The drink costs $2.59 and mixes frozen pineapple with a smooth layer of tropical cold foam.
Those who want to try everything can order the Bikini Bottom Bundle for $14.99. It comes in a pineapple-shaped box and includes the full spread, along with a medium float and eight Cheesy Bacon Tots.
Burger King also created a special King Jr. Meal for kids. It comes in a pineapple box with one of six SpongeBob toys and a limited-edition SpongeBob crown.
Extra Perks and a Weekend Event
Members of Burger King’s rewards program gain access to special meals when they order SpongeBob items through the app. Fans in Miami can also visit a themed pop-up on December 6 and 7 at 701 NW 37th Ave. The display brings the menu to life with decorations inspired by the show.
SpongeBob’s Long History with Fast Food
Burger King’s new menu joins a long line of SpongeBob tie-ins. In 2024, another chain teamed up with the franchise for the Krabby Patty Kollab. That menu offered a themed burger and a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty to mark the show’s 25th anniversary.
Another major chain also joined the fun in past years. In 2012, it featured 16 SpongeBob toys during the Summer Olympics. In 2021, the chain brought back ten more toys for a limited time.
The new Burger King menu adds another chapter to SpongeBob’s long run in food promotions. Fans now get a fresh chance to enjoy the cartoon world with every bite.
