The cast of 'FBI'. CBS
CBS has decided to end two of its popular FBI spinoffs, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. The network confirmed that these two shows will not return for another season. However, the original FBI series will continue, with CBS renewing it through the 2026-2027 broadcast season.
The cancellation of the two series came as a surprise to many fans. FBI: Most Wanted had been on air for six seasons since its debut in 2020, while FBI: International lasted four seasons after premiering in 2021. CBS has not provided an official reason for ending the shows.
A Look at the Cast and Their Reactions
FBI: Most Wanted introduced audiences to a talented cast, including Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Nathanial Arcand. In 2022, Dylan McDermott took over as the lead, playing Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott, head of the Fugitive Task Force.
McDermott spoke about his experience on the show, saying, “It was an easy yes for me to sign on to FBI: Most Wanted.” He praised show creator Dick Wolf for allowing him creative freedom in developing his character.
Meanwhile, FBI: International featured actors like Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, and Christiane Paul. Eva-Jane Willis, who later joined the series, expressed sadness about its cancellation. She thanked CBS and Wolf Entertainment for the experience and shared her appreciation for the cast and crew in Budapest. “We have memories to last us a lifetime!” she said.
Luke Kleintank had previously announced his departure from FBI: International before the cancellation news broke. He shared that his decision was based on personal reasons, stating, “My family’s well-being is my top priority.” Jesse Lee Soffer and Jay Hayden were brought in to fill the gap, with Hayden expressing excitement about joining the show for its fourth season.
A New FBI Series in the Works
Despite canceling two of its spinoffs, CBS is moving forward with a new series, FBI: CIA. This upcoming show will follow an FBI agent and a CIA operative working together to prevent domestic terrorism in New York City. Casting details are yet to be announced.
While fans are disappointed about the end of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, the franchise will continue with FBI and the upcoming FBI: CIA.
