Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown stands charged in England. Authorities say he attacked a music producer in a London nightclub last year. Brown, 36, faces one count of causing serious injury.
Police arrested Brown at a Manchester hotel this week. Prosecutors confirmed the charge on Thursday. Brown will appear in court Friday morning at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
Details of the Alleged Attack
The victim, music producer Abe Diaw, told reporters he suffered injuries after Brown allegedly attacked him without cause. The incident happened in February 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, a wealthy area in London. At that time, Brown was touring the UK.
A newspaper first reported the story and learned Brown was in the UK again on Wednesday. It alerted police, who promptly arrested Brown in Manchester. Brown’s team did not respond to requests for comment.
Brown’s Career and Recent Achievements
Chris Brown, also known as Breezy, began his music career as a teenager in 2005. Despite legal troubles, Brown plans to start a global music tour soon. He will perform alongside artists Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, and Bryson Tiller. The tour begins in Europe and moves to North America in July.
