Chris Evans made a thrilling return to his old superhero role in the latest Marvel film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Evans, known for his role as the Human Torch in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, appeared once again as Johnny Storm. He expressed his gratitude to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy for including him in the movie through an Instagram Stories post on July 31.
In his post, Evans shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring himself with Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy. He wrote, “Thank you to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie! They’re three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.”

Before becoming Captain America in the Avengers series, Evans played the Human Torch in the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four films. His character, Johnny Storm, was part of the 20th Century Fox series that also featured Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic, Jessica Alba as Invisible Woman, and Michael Chiklis as The Thing.

Deadpool & Wolverine has been a star-studded affair, with Hugh Jackman also reprising his role as Wolverine, a character he last played in Logan seven years ago. Jackman spoke about his return, saying he was excited and thrilled to revisit the character. The film also includes surprise cameos from Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Dafne Keen as X-23.

Channing Tatum, who had long hoped to play Gambit, also expressed his gratitude to Reynolds for casting him in the role. Tatum, whose Gambit solo movie was shelved when Disney acquired Fox, thanked Reynolds for making his dream a reality.

Deadpool & Wolverine debuted on July 26 and has been a massive hit, earning an estimated $205 million domestically over the opening weekend. This makes it the biggest R-rated film opening of all time, surpassing the openings of the previous Deadpool films.
