The Boston Bruins secured a 6-3 victory against the San Jose Sharks, marking their 14th consecutive win over the team. Charlie Coyle shone in the third period, scoring twice to overturn the game. His first goal, assisted by Matt Poitras, tied the score, while his second, a rebound off Sharks’ goalie Yaroslav Askarov, sealed the lead. Boston’s David Pastrnak also scored, benefitting from a San Jose defensive mishap, while Vinni Lettieri and Brad Marchand added goals. Jonas Korpisalo made 25 saves for the Bruins, who capitalized on the Sharks’ defensive lapses.

San Jose’s Will Smith, a local standout, scored a goal and assisted another, but it wasn’t enough to end the Sharks’ losing streak against Boston, which dates back to 2016. Askarov faced 27 shots, losing six of their last seven games as the Sharks struggled.

Other NHL Highlights:

Wild 3, Avalanche 1
In Denver, Yakov Trenin scored the game-winning goal early in the third, helping the Minnesota Wild defeat the Colorado Avalanche 3-1. Jake Middleton and Brock Faber also scored for the Wild, while goalie Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves. Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon tied the game late in the second, but the Avalanche couldn’t rally in the final minutes.

Kraken 6, Sabres 4
The Seattle Kraken edged out the Buffalo Sabres 6-4, led by Jamie Oleksiak’s decisive second-period goal. Adam Larsson and Jared McCann solidified the Kraken’s lead in the third. Despite Buffalo’s strong start, with Jack Quinn’s early goal and Tage Thompson’s two-point performance, Seattle dominated the second half of the game.

Blues 5, Golden Knights 4 (SO)
The St. Louis Blues outlasted the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout, winning 5-4. Jake Neighbours and Brayden Schenn scored in the shootout to secure the victory. St. Louis is now tied with Vancouver in the Western Conference playoff race. Vegas’ Shea Theodore contributed four assists, but the Knights fell short.

Maple Leafs 5, Lightning 3
Toronto Maple Leafs extended their winning streak by beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3. Matthew Knies led Toronto with two goals and an assist, while Auston Matthews and William Nylander also scored. Tampa’s Nick Paul scored twice, but the Leafs remained dominant, topping the Atlantic Division with 62 points.

Islanders 3, Blue Jackets 1
The New York Islanders scored three quick goals in the second period to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1. Bo Horvat netted two goals, while goalie Ilya Sorokin made 25 saves. Columbus saw their seven-game point streak end.

Hurricanes 4, Blackhawks 3 (OT)
Sebastian Aho’s overtime goal gave the Carolina Hurricanes a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Captain Jordan Staal reached a career milestone with his 700th point.

Penguins 5, Kings 1
Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 5-1, snapping the Kings’ nine-game home streak. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scored milestone goals, with Crosby joining an elite club for 50-point seasons.
