Canada's Defense Minister, Bill Blair, affirmed Canada's steadfast support for Ukraine during discussions with NATO members in Brussels. He announced on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that Canada will provide 900 domestically manufactured drones to enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities. Additionally, Blair emphasized that Canada is working closely with its allies to expand the Canadian-led battlegroup in Latvia from its current size to a brigade.
Blair's statements, made on Friday, underscore Canada's ongoing commitment to NATO's objectives, including efforts by member nations to achieve the alliance's goal of allocating two percent of GDP to military spending. Currently, according to NATO figures, Canada's military expenditure stands at approximately 1.33 percent of GDP.
