Presidents Day is a special holiday that celebrates past U.S. presidents, with George Washington’s birthday as its starting point. This federal holiday is a time to remember those who served in the Oval Office and also a great chance to score some excellent deals. You can take advantage of discounts on everything from mattresses to meals.

The origins of Presidents Day go back to February 22, George Washington's birthday. It became an official federal holiday in 1879. Then, in 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, moving Washington’s birthday celebration to the third Monday of February. This change made Presidents Day fall closer to Abraham Lincoln’s birthday (February 12), leading to widespread promotion of sales and special events by advertisers.

Even if you don’t get the day off work, you can still enjoy some delicious deals for Presidents Day on Monday, February 17. Several restaurants and brands are offering special food promotions to mark the occasion. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a meal with friends, family, or a loved one, there’s something for everyone.

Here are some of the best Presidents Day food deals:

  • Chuck E. Cheese: From now through Monday, get a Buy One, Get One Free deal on 60 minutes of all-you-can-play games. If you want to add more fun, you can also add a Trampoline Zone Admission for just $5.
  • Chevy’s Fresh Mex: Their 3-Course Sweetheart Menu for Two is available until February 17. The menu includes a champagne toast, one starter, one entrée per person, and a shared dessert.
  • Dave & Buster’s: Enjoy an Eat, Drink & Play Combo for just $19.99 per person. This deal includes an entrée, a drink, and a $10 Power Card. This special is available all weekend, but be aware it’s not valid on Friday and Saturday after 5 p.m.
  • El Torito: Their 3-Course Sweetheart Menu for Two is also available until February 17. It includes a champagne toast, one starter, one entrée per person, and one dessert to share.
  • Kodiak: For the holiday, Kodiak is offering 20% off on online orders of flapjack and waffle mixes, oatmeal, granola bars, and more. This discount is available until Monday.
  • Marco’s Pizza: Marco’s More Menu offers great deals. Spend $7.99 and get additional menu items starting at $5, $6, or $7. You can add a medium 1-topping pizza for $7, or opt for breadsticks for $5 or a 6-inch sub for $6.
