In a recent Instagram post, Erin Moriarty, known for her role in "The Boys," fired back at Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News host, who had made claims on her podcast about Moriarty undergoing plastic surgery. The 29-year-old actress expressed her dismay at what she deemed false and misogynistic comments from Kelly.

Addressing the situation, Moriarty highlighted the impact of bullying and shared her disbelief upon receiving a message about a video in which Kelly commented on her appearance, calling it "disgustingly false" and ironically misogynistic. She stressed the need to confront such statements, stating that she felt it was necessary to take a moment to address the situation.

Kelly had presented a "before" photo of Moriarty on her podcast, describing it as "relatively recent" and portraying the actress as a "nice, beautiful, natural gal." The news broadcaster expressed shock at what she claimed was Moriarty's transformation in the "after" photo, asserting that plastic surgery is a sign of mental illness and expressing a desire to discourage young girls from pursuing it.

Responding to Kelly's allegations, Moriarty clarified in her statement that the "before" photo was taken about a decade ago when she was not of legal drinking age, despite Kelly's claim that it was only a year old. She explained that the "after" snapshot was taken on a day when she had her makeup done, involving significant contouring, and emphasized feeling good about herself.

Characterizing the situation as harassment and false news, Moriarty directed her frustration towards both Kelly and Fox News, likening the network to Vought, an entity from her show "The Boys." She accused them of making reductive assumptions and expressed how the entire incident had broken her heart.

Support poured in from Moriarty's co-stars, including Jack Quaid and Chace Crawford, who shared messages of love and encouragement in the comments. Quaid expressed solidarity with Moriarty, telling her to ignore the haters, while Crawford conveyed support with a red heart emoji.

In the face of the controversy, Moriarty concluded her statement with a scathing "Shame on you, Megyn Kelly. Shame on you, Fox News," expressing her profound disappointment with the situation and the reactions it triggered.
