Over the past three years, golf has undergone transformations, and so have Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie, as they return to participate in the PNC Championship.

Tiger, a year after his surprising 2019 Masters triumph, encountered a car accident at the outset of 2021. Since then, he has undergone numerous surgeries, making sporadic appearances in the sport. Meanwhile, Charlie has experienced significant changes too. The once-youngster, known for his long drives and playful jibes at golfers like Justin Thomas, has noticeably matured.

Justin Thomas remarked on Charlie's growth, highlighting his evolution as a golfer despite still being a 14-year-old. Thomas acknowledged Charlie's transition from a carefree approach to the game towards a more serious and receptive attitude. He also praised Charlie's achievement of winning the state championship with his peers, crediting his time on the high school team for the progress.

Tiger, observing his son's development, noted Charlie's advancement in the game, emphasizing his son's increasing distance off the tee. Despite Tiger's role as Charlie's caddie and coach, he acknowledged Charlie's own motivation to improve, expressing satisfaction at not having to push his son to excel.

Reflecting on the differences between their golfing eras, Tiger attributed Charlie's impressive swing and speed to advancements in equipment, citing the evolution from persimmon clubs and older golf balls to the modern technology available today.

The father-son duo's progress remains a topic of fascination and uncertainty within the golfing world. Tiger highlighted Charlie's extraordinary growth—approximately four inches taller within a year—which continually affects his game and necessitates adjustments.

As they gear up to compete alongside Thomas and his father, Mike, the following day at the championship, Tiger marveled at Charlie's ongoing growth and adaptation. He emphasized the evolving nature of Charlie's swing, the constant changes in equipment, and the challenges that arise as a result of his rapid physical development.

The journey of Tiger and Charlie Woods in the golfing landscape continues to evolve, showcasing not just a game of golf but a narrative of growth, adaptation, and the challenges of navigating changes in a sport that demands continuous adjustment.
