The wait for the first trailer of Superman is finally nearing its end.
Warner Bros. announced on Monday that the highly anticipated trailer for James Gunn's Superman, starring David Corenswet as the iconic Man of Steel, will debut on Thursday at 6 a.m. PT. Along with the announcement, fans were treated to a striking motion poster that pays tribute to Christopher Reeve's beloved portrayal of Superman.
The motion poster comes with a subtle nod to composer John Williams’ legendary score from the 1978 Superman film. Instead of the familiar bold horns and triumphant tones, Gunn's version opts for a more introspective reimagining. The melody is softened, blending delicate strings with a haunting, hummed rendition of the theme, giving it a thoughtful, modern twist.
Visually, the poster features Corenswet’s Superman soaring into the sky, his gaze fixed upwards. The vibrant red, blue, and yellow hues of his costume blur into the background, creating a dynamic, high-speed effect that highlights the character's movement. The tagline, “Look up,” serves as a powerful message and adds to the cinematic anticipation.
In addition to the poster, Warner Bros. released a brief teaser showcasing the Superman logo. The teaser highlights the “Look up” tagline as the iconic “S” symbol flips upright, hinting at the momentous reveal of the trailer.
Gunn’s Superman, which was previously titled Superman: Legacy, is set to hit theaters on July 11, marking the first film under the newly restructured DC Studios, led by Gunn and producer Peter Safran. David Corenswet is joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and a stellar supporting cast including Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.
As excitement builds, fans are just days away from getting their first full glimpse of Gunn’s fresh take on the Man of Steel.
