In a deeply emotional scene from Sister Wives, Kody Brown calls Meri Brown to deliver heartbreaking news. This moment is shown in the latest episode of the TLC reality series, revealing the tragic loss of Kody's son, Garrison.

Unexpected Call

The scene begins with Meri Brown preparing to film an interview for the show about her birthday. While setting up, she notices a call from her ex-husband, Kody. Surprised by the timing, she tells the producer that it’s "weird" for him to call her at that moment. She assumes it's not urgent and says, "He can text me if he needs me."

However, when Kody calls again, Meri’s curiosity grows. "I already texted and said..." she says before trailing off. A few seconds later, she realizes the situation is much more serious. After reading his message, she exclaims, "It’s an emergency."

Meri then answers the call, looking instantly alarmed. "What?" she says, and the scene quickly fades to black, leaving viewers on edge. The screen then displays a somber message: "On March 5, 2024, Kody and Janelle's son Garrison passed away."

Garrison’s Death and Family Reactions

The tragic news reveals that Garrison Brown died by suicide at the age of 25. In a later interview, Janelle Brown, Kody’s second wife, recalls how her other son, Gabriel, found Garrison. It’s a devastating moment for the entire family, and Janelle explains how they struggled with the loss.

When Meri reappears for a later interview, she reflects on Kody’s call that day. “He told me the words I’ll never forget. He said, 'Garrison took his life.'” Meri admits that hearing this felt like a surreal moment, one she couldn't believe was real. “Not one of our kids. No, they’re not going to do that,” she remembers thinking. She continued, “I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ And he’s like, ‘No.’”

Meri’s Support for the Family

After receiving the call, Meri immediately heads over to Kody and Robyn Brown’s house. As she arrives, she runs into Gwendlyn Brown, Kody’s daughter from his marriage to Christine Brown Woolley. “She just came out and just like hung on to me. Oh gosh, like I didn’t even know what to do,” Meri recalls, clearly emotional.

Meri also calls Janelle to check on her, telling her that she’s getting food and will be there soon. "I didn’t know what else to do," she says.

Family’s Farewell to Garrison

The episode also shows a private viewing of Garrison’s body, which the family held for close family and friends. Meri explains how painful that moment was. “That was the last time we saw his body and that was really, really difficult,” she says, visibly shaken by the experience.

Kody, who was estranged from Garrison at the time of his death, reflects on his own feelings of loss. “The strongest memories I have in these three days was actually being at the funeral home with Janelle. I didn’t know what to say to anybody besides I’m sorry to everybody,” he admits, still struggling with the grief.
