Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is in town for the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival and will greet fans Friday evening at Total Wine & More in Mission Valley.
Fieri Meets Fans
Fieri will sign bottles of Santo Tequila, the brand he co-founded with rock legend Sammy Hagar in 2019. The Emmy-winning host will appear from 5 to 6 p.m., offering photos and autographs. Santo Spirits produces several tequilas and a tequila-mezcal blend, crafted in Jalisco, Mexico.
Del Mar Wine + Food Festival
The festival, now in its third year, began Wednesday and runs through Sunday. Events highlight renowned chefs, winemakers, and craft producers.
Tonight features the Ramey Wine Dinner at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Chefs Jackson Kalb, Jason McLeod, and Marc Murphy will prepare a prix-fixe menu paired with Ramey wines.
The Game Changers fundraiser also takes place tonight. Soccer star Alex Morgan hosts the dinner supporting her foundation. Six women chefs, including Claudia Sandoval and Karen Krasne, will prepare a multi-course meal with Justin Vineyards pairings.
Friday highlights include a Baja Dinner presented by Tequila Ocho with chefs Javier Plascencia and Raul Casillas. Also on Friday, Michelin-starred chef Drew Deckman joins Jet Tila and others for the Kosta Browne Wine Dinner at Estancia La Jolla.
The weekend wraps up with the Grand Tasting at San Diego Surf Sports Park. Guests can sample food and drinks from dozens of chefs and more than 200 wine, beer, and spirits providers.
New Openings Across San Diego
San Diego’s dining scene is expanding with several new spots.
Good News Bar opened in Hillcrest as the city’s first alcohol-free cocktail lounge. Open since late August, it offers functional cocktails with health-focused ingredients in a Mac Miller-inspired setting.
Communal Coffee added a fifth café, now serving Bankers Hill. The new spot offers coffee, seasonal breakfast items, and retail goods, with plans to expand into beer and wine service.
Better Buzz Coffee launched its 25th San Diego shop in Rancho Peñasquitos. The opening features the Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever for its first month, alongside fall favourites like Pumpkin Spice Latte.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill opened in Oceanside, offering casual dining with indoor and patio seating.
Gen Korean BBQ will soon open at Westfield UTC, adding to the chain’s presence in San Diego. Diners can cook their own meats and seafood at tableside grills.
Raising Cane’s launched a new Midway District location this week. The chicken chain now serves daily from morning until late night.
