Health Canada advises individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with AIDS or lymphoma, to discontinue the use of Miracle Reds superfood powder. The government has initiated a recall for three batches of the MacroLife Naturals product due to missing risk information on their labels.

In addition to immunocompromised individuals, Health Canada cautions against the consumption of Miracle Reds powder by patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment. Moreover, individuals taking health products that affect blood coagulation are advised against its use.

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals are urged not to consume Miracle Reds powder without consulting a healthcare provider first.

MacroLife Naturals promotes Miracle Reds as a blend of 19 fruits and berries enriched with probiotics, antioxidants, and enzymes. The product is available through various retailers, including Costco and Amazon.

The three affected batches of Miracle Reds, identified by the codes M23307002-30I, M23053001-30I, and M22228001-30I, lack essential risk information on their packaging labels.

This report, provided by The Canadian Press, was initially published on April 23, 2024. The Canadian Medical Association supports Canadian Press health coverage, although CP bears sole responsibility for its content.
