Honda has announced a recall of 61,000 vehicles in Canada due to concerns about a potentially faulty high-pressure fuel pump. In a statement released last week, the company explained that cracks may develop within the fuel pump if there are problems with its core. This defect could lead to fuel leaks, which pose a risk of fire, especially if a spark is present. Such a situation could result in a fire and possibly cause accidents or injuries.

In addition to the Canadian recall, over 700,000 vehicles in the United States are also being recalled for the same issue. So far, there have been no reports of fires, accidents, or injuries related to this defect in either Canada or the U.S., according to Honda.

Affected vehicle owners will receive a notification by mail in December, instructing them to take their cars to an authorized Honda dealer for a complimentary inspection. If a defective part is identified, it will be replaced at no charge.

The models included in the recall are:

  • 2023-2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid
  • 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid
  • 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Civic Sedan Hybrid

If you are worried that your vehicle may need repairs, you can check your vehicle identification number on Honda's website for more information.

This recall marks Honda's second significant action this month, following an earlier announcement regarding nearly 240,000 vehicles recalled in early October due to problems with the steering system.
