A serious bus crash happened outside the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal on Wednesday afternoon. The accident left one person dead and another badly hurt.

Crash Details

The crash took place around 3:30 p.m. at the corner of Keith Road and Bay Road. This is right next to the busy ferry terminal, where many people were walking. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown. Some reports say the bus driver might have had a medical problem while driving, but this has not been confirmed.

Emergency Response

The West Vancouver Police quickly responded to the scene. They told the public to avoid the area so emergency workers could help the victims and start investigating the crash. Several ambulances and a helicopter arrived to take care of those injured.

Impact on Bus Service

TransLink, the bus company, confirmed the crash involved one of their buses but did not give many details. They warned passengers on route 257, the express bus between Vancouver and Horseshoe Bay, to expect delays.

Event Cancelled

The crash happened just before a local event called Taste of the Bay was about to start. This event was meant to celebrate local restaurants and shops. The Horseshoe Bay Business Association said the event is now cancelled until further notice. They called the crash “extremely unfortunate” and “unforeseen.”

Community Reaction

People in the area expressed shock and sadness over the crash. The ferry terminal is usually a busy place, and this tragedy has deeply affected the local community.

Authorities continue to investigate what caused the crash. They have not shared more details yet but promise to keep the public informed as the situation develops.
