Firehouse Subs has joined forces with the hit talk show Hot Ones to introduce two fiery new sandwiches. Host Sean Evans believes this partnership was a perfect fit. "Firefighters have told me they take on the Hot Ones challenge in their firehouses," Evans said. "Firehouse Subs already has a strong hot sauce lineup, so this collaboration just made sense."
The Hot Ones show, which began in 2015, is famous for its celebrity interviews, where guests eat progressively spicier chicken wings. Over the years, stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Bill Murray, and Lady Gaga have taken on the challenge. Now, fans can get a taste of the heat with the new Hot Ones sandwiches at Firehouse Subs.
What Are the New Spicy Sandwiches?
Firehouse Subs is launching two new sandwiches, both inspired by Hot Ones’ love of extreme heat:
- Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder – Smoked turkey, honey ham, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, deli mustard, Firehouse Hero Hot Sauce, and Hot Ones’ The Last Dab Reaper Edition.
- Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder – Smoked turkey, honey ham, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic chips, mayo, and Hot Ones’ The Classic Garlic Fresno sauce.
The Last Dab Reaper Edition, used in the Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder, is made with Carolina Reaper peppers, one of the world’s hottest. The Classic Garlic Fresno, featured in the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder, has Fresno chile peppers with apple cider vinegar and garlic puree for a more balanced heat.
How Spicy Are the New Subs?
According to Evans, the Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder ranks a full 10 out of 10 on the heat scale. "It’s the hottest sauce we have," he said. "Some foods are so spicy, one bite is enough—even for me. But we made sure this sandwich is hot while still being enjoyable."
For those looking for a milder option, the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder sits at about a 2 or 3 out of 10. Evans says the Classic Garlic Fresno sauce is a fan favorite among his celebrity guests.
Want More Heat? Try the Last Dab Dill Pickle
Along with the sandwiches, Firehouse Subs is also offering a Last Dab Dill Pickle, marinated in Hot Ones’ Last Dab XXX Hot Sauce. This is the same sauce used for the final, most intense wing on the Hot Ones challenge.
"It’s not just a pickle," Evans said. "It’s something that will truly test even the biggest spice lovers. If you want to feel like you’re on the show, this pickle will do the trick."
When Can You Try Them?
The Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder, Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder, and Last Dab Dill Pickle will be available nationwide starting Monday, March 10.
