In a recent press briefing, the Indian Air Force (IAF) addressed rumors surrounding the airstrikes on Pakistani military sites. Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, firmly denied any claims of India targeting Pakistan’s suspected nuclear installations, specifically the Kirana Hills.

No Strike on Kirana Hills: Air Marshal Bharti Responds

Tensions have been running high following India’s airstrikes on Pakistan’s military sites after the Pahalgam attack. Many rumors surfaced online, particularly on social media, claiming that the Indian forces had targeted Pakistan’s nuclear facilities in the Kirana Hills region. These claims, largely fueled by sources within Pakistan, sparked concerns about the potential escalation of the conflict.

However, the Indian Air Force made it clear that these rumors were baseless. Air Marshal Bharti categorically denied any strike on Kirana Hills or any nuclear site. When questioned directly about the possibility of targeting the area, Bharti responded with confidence, stating, “Thank you for telling us that Kirana Hills houses some nuclear installations. We did not know about it. We have not hit Kirana Hills, whatever is there.”

Dismissing Rumors and Speculations

The IAF's statement directly addressed the growing speculation circulating on social media platforms. Air Marshal Bharti emphasized that the airstrikes were solely aimed at military targets, in line with India’s operational objectives. The official stance was clear: India has not targeted any nuclear facility, and no such strike took place during the operations.

This denial from the IAF comes at a time when both countries remain on high alert. The Line of Control (LoC) and international borders continue to see heightened vigilance, with Indian forces maintaining a defensive stance amid ongoing tensions.

Indian Forces Maintain Vigilance at the LoC

While the rumors about the nuclear site strike have been put to rest, the situation along the LoC remains delicate. The Indian military continues to monitor developments closely, with an emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of the nation’s borders. Despite the denial of nuclear-related airstrikes, there are still concerns about future military engagements as both countries remain in a state of readiness.

The rumors about targeting Pakistan’s nuclear sites had the potential to escalate the situation. However, the IAF’s swift response aims to prevent further miscommunication or unnecessary escalation.
