The Somali-born model, who married the “Life on Mars?” singer in 1992 and stayed with him until his passing in 2016, stood out brightly at the 2025 Fashion Awards. HELLO!
The Fashion Awards lit up London on December 1 with major names from around the world, but one guest drew the most attention. Iman, the 70-year-old Somali model and widow of music legend David Bowie, arrived in a striking gown that quickly became the talk of the night. She joined fellow models Lila Moss, Georgia May Jagger, and Helena Christensen at the annual ceremony. The event supports the British Fashion Council’s Education Foundation, which helps talented fashion students with financial needs.
A Show-Stopping Gown From Harris Reed
Iman walked the red carpet in an eye-catching gown from Harris Reed’s spring/summer 2026 collection. The piece featured a sculpted corset that shaped her waist and a smooth mermaid-style skirt that flowed elegantly behind her. The dress came in mustard yellow and cream satin covered in soft floral designs.
She completed the look with stacked diamond bracelets, long drop earrings, and a smoky grey eye with light blue touches. Her look drew admiration from guests the moment she stepped onto the carpet.

Celebrity stylist Ellis Ranson praised Iman’s outfit and said her bold use of colour made the look stand out. “Yellow can be a tricky colour, but she has worn it so well, warming her complexion and showcasing her stylish energy,” Ranson said. The stylist also noted that the mix of shape and colour reflects a growing trend for 2026 inspired by sculptural art. Ranson said dramatic gowns can sometimes overwhelm a look, but added, “Iman got it right.”
Why Iman Chose the Design
Iman said she loved the creative vision behind the gown. She shared her thoughts ahead of the event and spoke warmly about Harris Reed, saying, “[Harris] has really such a poetic eye and designs from a place of storytelling; [his creations are] definitely filled with drama and emotion. His clothes mimic a bygone era, but at the same time, it's new.”
The sculptural feel of the gown appealed to her. She described the look as “wearable art” and said the silhouette felt strong and expressive. She also praised the colours for their vivid and emotional quality.
A Creative Partnership With History
Iman and Harris Reed share a fashion history that goes back several years. They first met in 2021 after an introduction by Vogue’s Anna Wintour ahead of that year’s Met Gala. Harris Reed created a dramatic gown and headpiece for Iman that evening, and the look became one of the most memorable moments of the event.
Since then, Harris Reed has dressed major stars such as Selena Gomez, Harry Styles, and Beyoncé. The partnership with Iman continues to draw attention for its bold choices and artistic flair. Their latest Fashion Awards look adds another strong moment to their growing creative story.
