Boston and Sims Power the Offense
Aliyah Boston delivered an outstanding performance with 27 points and nine rebounds. Odyssey Sims added 22 points, giving Indiana a strong offensive boost. Together, they kept the pressure on Seattle throughout the game.
Kelsey Mitchell also played a key role, scoring 21 points. Lexie Hull contributed with nine rebounds, helping the Fever control the boards. Indiana doubled Seattle on rebounds, 42-21, showcasing their dominance inside.
Fever Climb the WNBA Standings
With this win, Indiana improved to 20-18. They moved ahead of both Seattle (20-19) and Golden State (19-18), securing sixth place. Only the top eight teams qualify for the WNBA playoffs, making this victory crucial as just six regular-season games remain.
Clark Still Sidelined but Showing Progress
Rookie sensation Caitlin Clark missed her 16th straight game due to a right groin injury. She has not played since July 15. However, there was some positive news as Clark joined Indiana’s pregame shootaround in Minnesota on Sunday. Her potential return could further boost the team’s playoff push.
Seattle Storm’s Winning Streak Ends
Seattle entered the matchup on a three-game winning streak but struggled against Indiana’s intensity. Nneka Ogwumike scored 17 points, with 12 coming in the first half. Brittney Sykes added 12 points, while Skylar Diggins recorded eight assists. Despite their efforts, the Storm couldn’t match Indiana’s energy.
Fever’s Strong First Half Sets the Tone
Indiana built momentum early. Mitchell scored 16 points in the first half, Boston added 11, and Sims chipped in 10. The Fever connected on six of their first 11 attempts from beyond the arc, helping them secure a 50-39 halftime lead.
Third-Quarter Run Breaks the Game Open
The Fever came out firing after halftime. They opened the third quarter on a 14-4 run, led by seven points from Boston. This stretch extended Indiana’s lead to 64-43.
By the fourth quarter, the Fever had full control. They scored 15 of the first 18 points, ballooning the lead to 89-59. Seattle never recovered as Indiana closed out the game comfortably.
A Crucial Victory for Indiana Fever
This win marked Indiana’s third straight victory over Seattle this season. It also gave them a valuable edge in the playoff race. With their stars stepping up and Clark’s possible return nearing, the Fever are building momentum at the right time.
