In "The Fall Guy," stuntman Ben Jenkin shares insights on safety while performing fire stunts. Director David Leitch's film celebrates the unsung heroes of Hollywood: stunt performers.

The movie advocates for their recognition amidst calls for a new Oscar category. Leitch, a former stuntman, aims to redefine the perception of stunt work in the industry.

The film, based on the Lee Majors TV series, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of stunt performers. Ryan Gosling stars as Colt Seavers, a veteran stuntman, alongside Emily Blunt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. At the SXSW premiere, Gosling admitted to not performing his own stunts, highlighting the essential role of stunt doubles. Stunt performers like Jenkin and Logan Holladay undertake daring feats, bringing action sequences to life.

Despite the ongoing campaign, it may take time for the Academy to recognize stunt work with a new award category. Stunt professionals, often overlooked, play a vital role in filmmaking, collaborating with various departments to create memorable scenes.

For some, like Troy Brown, stunt work is a family tradition, reflecting the dedication and passion within the industry.
