Intel, with DigitalBridge, launches Articul8 AI—secure GenAI platform for enterprises. Hybrid deployment options, focusing on data security. (Intel)

January 05, 2024

Intel and DigitalBridge Group have jointly introduced Articul8 AI, an autonomous firm presenting a comprehensive, secure generative AI software platform aimed at enterprise clients. The platform, emphasizing data security, offers deployment options in the cloud, on-site, or through hybrid setups.

Intel's intellectual property and technology underlie Articul8's platform, which will be steered by Arun Subramaniyan, the ex-VP of Intel's data center and AI group, appointed as CEO.

The strategic alignment between Intel and DigitalBridge aims to promote GenAI adoption in the enterprise and explore market opportunities together.

Analysts express surprise at Intel's foray into generative AI due to perceived hardware limitations and a lesser-known software development aspect. They highlight Articul8's focus on tailoring GenAI solutions for industry-specific challenges, addressing concerns about data exposure to third parties or misuse by service providers.

Industry observers note DigitalBridge's role in supporting managed service providers catering to enterprise needs, underscoring the logic behind the unit's spinoff. Intel's move to accommodate NVIDIA processors reflects its attempt to counter perceived limitations in the GenAI domain.

Questions linger about Articul8's exact offerings: whether it concentrates on model training, customizations, or provides readily deployable solutions for operations, leaving ambiguity about its user base—developers or business leaders.

Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsinger, anticipates tangible business impacts from Articul8's deep AI expertise and enterprise-grade GenAI deployments, affirming its potential for delivering outcomes to Intel's ecosystem, customers, and partners.

DigitalBridge Ventures spearheads the investment in Articul8, with Intel and a consortium of other investors joining the venture, including Fin Capital, Mindset Ventures, Communitas Capital, GiantLeap Capital, GS Futures, and Zain Group.
