Jennifer Lawrence stepped into 2026 with a noticeable change. The 35-year-old actor revealed a new hairstyle while appearing at a public conversation in New York on January 7. She debuted soft, face-framing bangs that marked a fresh style moment as she spoke about her latest film.
The appearance took place during a live discussion with Josh Horowitz, where Lawrence talked openly about her work and personal experiences in acting.
A Simple and Elegant Look
For the event, Lawrence chose a clean and classic outfit. She wore a black mock-neck halter top paired with black trousers designed by Jessica McCormack. She completed the look with pointed black pumps and drop earrings.
Her blonde hair fell straight and sleek, with the new bangs drawing attention to her eyes and face. The understated style allowed her new haircut to stand out without distraction.
A Return to the Spotlight
Lawrence last appeared on the red carpet in December 2025 at the Gotham Awards in New York City. At that event, she wore a cropped blazer and a high-slit skirt by Christian Dior. She paired the outfit with high-heeled sandals, anklets, and dangling earrings.

At the same awards ceremony, Lawrence earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performance. She received recognition alongside actors including Ethan Hawke, Jessie Buckley, Tessa Thompson, Rose Byrne, and Josh O’Connor.
Opening Up About Acting Challenges
During the conversation, Lawrence spoke honestly about her nerves before starting a new project. She said she feels “anxiety” ahead of filming and shared her thoughts on shooting intimate scenes.
While discussing her new film Die My Love, she revealed that she filmed a challenging scene with her co-star Robert Pattinson on the very first day.
“It was actually easier that way because Rob and I did not know each other, which is kind of better, you know?” Lawrence explained.
She compared the experience to working with familiar co-stars in the past, including her time filming The Hunger Games.
“Like in Hunger Games, like me and Josh Hutcherson would have to kiss, and that's like… imagine it,” she said with a laugh. “You know, it's weirder, and so yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable.”
Behind the Scenes of a Demanding Role
Lawrence also described acting as “very embarrassing,” especially scenes that required intense physical movement. She recalled performing scenes where she and Pattinson moved like animals under the direction of filmmaker Lynne Ramsay.
She shared that interpretive dance lessons helped them prepare, even though both felt uncomfortable.
“We got to Calgary like three weeks before we started shooting. Rob and I both [are] embarrassed very easily, and that was mortifying,” she said with a laugh.
“And, and it was like, now blow like a tree — like it was just so embarrassing. So I think by the time she was like, ‘Yeah, get naked.’ We were just kind of like, ‘Okay, at least it's not interpretive dance…’”
About the Film
In Die My Love, Lawrence plays Grace, a writer and young mother who struggles after moving from New York to rural Montana. The story follows her growing emotional turmoil and its impact on her partner, Jackson, played by Pattinson.
