It was a historic weekend in the world of golf. From PGA Tour glory to LPGA triumphs and LIV Golf drama, several big names delivered unforgettable performances.

Fleetwood Wins FedEx Cup with First PGA Tour Victory

England’s Tommy Fleetwood finally ended his streak of near misses. He captured his first PGA Tour title by winning the Tour Championship at East Lake. The victory also secured him the prestigious FedEx Cup and a massive $10 million reward.

Fleetwood’s composure defined his round. While rivals stumbled, he held steady with a closing 2-under 68. His final score of 18-under 262 gave him a three-shot win over Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley.

The Englishman’s victory came with two trophies: the FedEx Cup and the Tour Championship’s symbolic “Calamity Jane” replica putter. For Fleetwood, who has endured several heartbreaking finishes, this was the breakthrough moment he had been chasing.

Brooke Henderson Delivers Home Delight in Canada

Canadian golf fans had their own reason to celebrate. Brooke Henderson thrilled the Mississauga crowd by winning her second CPKC Women’s Open title.

Henderson closed with a 4-under 68 to finish at 15-under 269, one stroke ahead of Minjee Lee. The key moment came on the par-3 14th, where Henderson sank a 6-foot birdie to take the lead. On the 17th, she answered Lee’s birdie with a clutch putt of her own to maintain control.

This was Henderson’s 14th LPGA Tour title and her first since January 2023. The 27-year-old from Smith Falls, Ontario, added another chapter to her legacy as Canada’s most decorated golfer.

Jon Rahm Leads LIV Golf’s Legion XIII to Victory

Over in the LIV Golf League, Jon Rahm powered Legion XIII to a dramatic playoff win over Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers. The final at The Cardinal at Saint John’s saw both teams finish regulation at 20-under.

Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton birdied their final two holes to force a playoff. On the second extra hole, both players sank birdies to seal victory for Legion XIII. Former Tennessee standout Caleb Surratt led the charge with a superb 64, while Rahm and Tom McKibbin added matching 65s.

For Rahm, the win came just a week after securing the LIV Golf season points title in Indiana.

Alex Noren Triumphs at British Masters

In England, Alex Noren returned to the winner’s circle at the British Masters. The Swede, recovering from a hamstring injury earlier this year, closed with a 5-under 67 to secure a one-shot victory.

It was Noren’s 11th European Tour title and his first since 2017. Rasmus Hojgaard also had reason to celebrate. His tie for 13th was enough to earn him an automatic Ryder Cup spot.

Stewart Cink Defends Ally Challenge Crown

On the PGA Tour Champions, Stewart Cink edged Ernie Els in a playoff to win The Ally Challenge for the second straight year. Cink closed with a 68 to finish at 15-under 201, matching Els before clinching the playoff with a par.

The 52-year-old American now has two senior tour titles this season.

Becky Morgan Dominates U.S. Senior Women’s Open

Wales’ Becky Morgan captured her first U.S. Senior Women’s Open title in commanding fashion. She shot a final-round 70 to finish six shots ahead of Juli Inkster. The victory marked a dream debut for Morgan, who turned 50 last year.

Other Global Golf Highlights

  • Japan Golf Tour: Satoshi Kodaira ended a seven-year title drought with a one-shot win at the ISPS Handa Summer Golf Battle.
  • Ladies European Tour: Stanford’s Meja Ortengren, just 20 years old, claimed the Hills Open for her second professional win.
  • Challenge Tour: Filippo Celli posted a 65 to secure victory at The Dutch Futures.
  • Epson Tour: Rising star Yana Wilson won the Dream First Bank Charity Classic at just 19 years old.

A Weekend of Champions

From Fleetwood’s long-awaited breakthrough to Henderson’s homecoming win and Rahm’s team triumph, golf witnessed a weekend packed with history. With Ryder Cup selections, major tour races, and rising stars making waves, the game continues to deliver drama on every stage.
